Dr. Elvia Marin is a distinguished professor-researcher at the Autonomous
University of Baja California Sur, where she leads groundbreaking research in sustainable marine
resource management. With a Master's in Applied Economics from El Colegio de la Frontera Norte
and a Doctorate in Marine Sciences with specialization in Sustainable Management, her
interdisciplinary approach bridges economic theory with environmental conservation.
Her primary research focuses on social vulnerability and well-being,
economic diversification in local development, participatory science
and sustainable fisheries management, fisheries modeling,
decision-making processes, and adaptation
strategies. This comprehensive approach ensures that her research addresses both
